Allah subhanatala must be angry with us. When we read about tragedies befalling our fellow human beings we never think that Allah is giving us a warning. We feel sorry for those people for a minute or so and then move on with our lives not once looking back. Approximately 20,000 people dead and many left homeless and starving after the tsunami hit the coasts. Not one but many countries affected. We hear about it on BBC and tsk and say the appropraite things about how horrid it is that such things are happening to people. But have we ever thought that Allah subhanatala is angry with us and that Allah is jabbar. But still He is rahim and kareem enough to warn us to mend our ways before we are also swept away with the flood, before we too don’t get a chance to ask for forgiveness for our sins. We hear about the azab of the bani Israel, we hear about the azab of koom lut, but do our hearts fill with remorse and do we fall down on our knees to beg for forgiveness??? Very few if any of us do. We remember to be angry at Allah subhanatala when we are in pain or in trouble but do we remember to thank him when we sleep at night with full stomachs and our families content. Allah subhanatala is very angry with us, the largest tragedy to befall us after 40 years the tsunami is just a preview of what will happen to us if we don’t mend our ways. We have sinned and Allah is waiting for us to ask for forgiveness. When will we learn that we have only to raise our hands and open our hearts and beg for forgiveness to be forgiven, that Allah says that the more you ask for forgiveness the more I will forgive. We all know this but we still fail to remember. May Allah subhanatala forgive us all and let us be amongst the chosen people who are welcome in heaven, ameen.
