Rethinking our priorities
How long in one breath does it take us to say alhamdullilah. Not even one full breath and how often do we say it??? Once a day? once a week? once a month? Once a year or does this word not exist in our lives. We all remember to be ungrateful and complain but in the time of joy and happiness and in the knowledge that we are truly blessed do we even once say "alhamdullilah". When we see people walking barefoot in the scorching heat and sleeping by the road side do we bow our heads and say alhumdullilah that we are sitting in an air conditioned car and live in good houses? When we see little children taking leftovers out of the trash cans do we become humble and say alhamdullilah that we have all these blessings or do we just walk by and complain that we dont like the food that is cooked in the house. When we see beggars with no arms or legs or distorted faces do we say alhumdulliah we can walk and use our hands or we only complain that we are not tall enough, thin enough or pretty enough??? We all need to bring this word into our lives, it only but takes a second. Oh mortals do not walk on this earth as if you own it and don’t be proud for only Allah subhanatala blesses us with dignity and esteem and He the creator of all can take it away. So Allah subhanatala alhamdullilah for the place we live in, alhamdullilah for the food we eat, alhamdullilah for our happiness , alhamdullialh for our parents and family and alahamdullilah that we are alive and in good health and able to walk the path as told by You. ameen
