Director General ISPR Shaukat Sultan said so far 18,020 persons were killed. A large number of people were killed in the worst hit areas of Azad Kashmir where 17155 people were killed while remaining casualties were reported from Pakistani areas.He informed that 215 army personnel were also among the dead while 414 others sustained injuries.He said Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawlakot were among the worst quake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir and so far 41188 persons were injured.. this has been reported to be the worst ever earthquake in history.
it is said that an earthquake in ramazan is azab e kabira (the biggest azab). i used to wonder why the people in the prophet (pbuh)'s time never learnt from the azab on other people. if the tsunami and now this arent azab and warning for us all then what is. everyone please say two nafal of astaghfar and pray for all muslims "astaghfirullaha rabbi min kulli zambin wa atoobu alaiah".
- two school in a village of balakot collapsed killing 100 children. the cricket stadium in karachi collapsed completely. the kids left are badly injured, their legs and arms have been smashed. there are no doctors there. 300 children are still trapped underneeth the rubble it had been raining all night and people are carrying their dead kids around but dont know where to burry them. (inalillahewainna alaihe rajaoon)
- alhamdullilah the family in islamabad are fine and well. since the earthquake its been hailing in islamabad. and after shocks can still be felt.

- The tremors also caused cracks in several buildings, including Lahore Museum and Alfalah Building at Faisal Chowk.Several shops at Altaf Colony near the Rangers headquarters and a plaza in Shah Alam Market collapsed after the first wave of the quake. Witnesses said clouds of dust hung over the collapsed buildings while broken glass and chunks of cement littered the streets.
- this is a time all of us need to join together and pray for all those people who have been effected by this tragedy. we need to get down on our knees in this holy month and beg allah tala for forgiveness. and thank allah becuase we are safe and our family are safe. alhamdullilah
